Surfeit
December 2014 Installation Polymer Sheets, Plastic trays and paint overflowing onto the floor This installation was made up using three parts, the wall, the floor and the space itself. Two of the polymer sheets are flesh to the wall as they expand in their trays allowing gravity to intervene. In contrast, one of the polymer trays on the wall coheres to the confines of its borders. The remaining two polymer sheets are suspended in the air. The whole space is used to make a painting. |

December 2014 Installation Suspended polymer sheets Dimensions Variable These sheets fall in a languid manner, forming a cone shape once suspended in mid-air. The colours reference the landscape, earthy and organic with a bright pop of yellow at the end of the wave. The viewer anticipates the installation looking at it head on but while walking past or amongst the installation, the viewer is given the chance to actively participate looking into and through the reflective, semi-transparent light filled materials made by the artist herself. November 2014 Installation Suspended polymer sheets and plastic tray on the floor Dimensions Variable This site specific installation was considered within the constriction and regulation of the space. The colours correspond to the colour coded doors and skirting boards. The suspended polymer sheets are suspended creating a reflection in the plastic tray on the floor where a polymer sheet is still in the process of making. The reflective sheen invites the viewer to partake in both an upward and downward gaze as one circumnavigates the space. |
